Warning, Graphic Photos, but if you love nature… you need to look

Update: Turns out I know nothing about birds. What I thought was a hawk was a juvenile earl and the “Woosy’a cousin” was a pileated woodpecker. – Shari Johnson, Publisher

Terry Hickman is a woman of many talents! She’s a pie baker extraordinaire, musician and vocalist and in her spare time she’s an extremely talented photographer. Of course it’s about the talent, but it’s also about the timing and Terry had both this week capturing the most amazing pictures of local birds, including the Calhoun Eagles, one of which was in the process of “dining out.” Thus the warning for the graphic images

I’m not sure if it’s related to woody, but this woodpecker certainly looks like it could be kin with its bright red cap!
