West Fork Flooding Closes School and Roads

A very short trip up Route 16 South toward the West Fork area, led to high water with homes and businesses at risk once again of flooding.

Kelli Barr, Director of E911 informed Ridgeview News that “South Calhoun Hwy is covered at Minnora and Pink. Walker is covered and a tree down. It is across at Nicut. It seems to be going down in that area but coming up at the Y. I just made it in here myself about 9:15 due it being too high for me to cross the low water bridge on Slab Fork. It was high out West Little Kanawha Hwy but not too high yet. I am making contact with my state liaison on reporting. After I get these things cleared up, I will go south and take a look. If I find anything or there are any changes, I will let you know.”
