William Greathouse Pleas Guilty to Charge of Sexual Abuse

William Greathouse appeared before Judge Anita Ashley for a pre-trial hearing with his attorney Daniel Minardi and Prosecuting Attorney Nigel Jeffries. After being sworn in by Circuit Clerk Sheila Garretson, documents were given to Judge Ashley regarding a plea agreement between Greathouse and the State of West Virginia.

In exchange for all but one charge being dropped, William Greathouse entered a plea of guilty to one count of Sexual Abuse by a person in position of trust of a child, a felony which carries a penalty of 10-20 years in prison and a fine of $500-$5000, 50 years parole and a lifetime registering as a sex offender,

Judge Ashley asked Greathouse if he understood the charges against him and the penalties he would face by entering a guilty plea to which Greathouse responded, “I am guilty.” He waived all rights and entered into an oral and written plea of guilty. Angela Purdue, Probation officer will conduct a pre-sentence investigation with a sentencing date of February 2, 2023, at 9 a.m.

Greathouse continues to be incarcerated in the Central Regional Jail.
