You’ll Need Gas for the ATV Run & Wood for the Future

Rev. Keith Gillespie filled his regular appointment at the Burning Springs M. E. Church

The big Creston spring ATV poker run will be held on Saturday, April 29.  Signups will end at noon and likely biscuits & gravy will be ready by 8 A. M. for the early risers.  One can leave at 9 A. M. for a fun ride through lots of water, mud and scenic areas where there are all sorts of wild flowers, dogwoods, moss, ferns, lichens, liverworts and maybe morels for the sharp eyed travelers. It might not hurt to bring winches, tow straps and tire repair kits for the ride.  When laying out the route only one chariot had to be extricated and only one time did a tire need to be put back on the rim and aired up.  The skill of Travis Burdette with “on the trail repairs” was, to say the least, greatly appreciated.  There are new t-shirts and there are chances on a hand sewn quilt made by the late Nancy Belle Wright.  The route is 63 miles long and there are no service stations on this one so be sure to have a full tank.  There are lots of places to stop for a picnic and for those who want to impress others about what mud holes their machine can test there will be lots of opportunities.  Just be sure that there is someone to pull out the buried machines & then share the videos.

Ricky Tucker is reported to be doing well after undergoing triple bypass surgery.

A local fellow who does not like to see his name in the column had a foot amputated at the WVU hospital during emergency surgery at 1 A. M. the other morning. He was life flighted from Grantsville.

The comely Kim was visiting her mother Wilma Mowrey.  Kim finally is now kidney stone free but it has been a rough haul.

Mr. & Mrs. Roger Jarvis were calling in Creston on Sunday afternoon.

A bog crowd of family & friends was on hand Saturday for Frankie Bush’s 90th birthday celebration.

Gypsy moth traps have once again been placed around the area.

The whippoorwills have returned from the sunny south and some turkey gobblers have been harvested.  Larkspur, wild geraniums and bishop’s cap are in bloom and soft maple seeds have been flying through the air.  Some vehicles are covered with a yellow dust which is pine pollen from the male cones.  Also, the pines are candling now.

The other day it was “earth day”.  It seems that the “green weenies” want us to worship earth [the creation] rather than worship the creator.  There is an old book that talks about worshiping false idols and false gods.  It was also noted that if America went 100% green it would require 75,000 miles of transmission lines and the area of 5 states for windmills and 3 states for solar panels.  Talk continues about shutting down the power plant in Pleasants County. All this should be good for generator sales and the installation of heating systems [especially wood] that do not require electricity to function.

At the recent SOOGA [Southeast Ohio Oil & Gas] meeting in Marietta it was learned that the new methane rules in the law that W. Va.’s Broadway Joe helped pass are real and impact almost everyone.  The only methane “emitters” that are exempt from testing are water wells that have natural gas and coal mines. [Joe made much in the coal business.]  Each & every well, compressor, meter, etc. will have to be tested four times/year with a very expensive detection device [TLIP camera} that must be operated by a highly trained [expensive] individual and then the results are turned into the methane police.  Also so called “environmental groups” that are opposed to America [so as to help our enemies] can make reports, valid or not and then the company must report to the friendly federal agency.  It was also noted that since 1990, emissions of SO2 [sulphur dioxide] has been reduced 93%, NO2 has been reduced 87% and CO2 [carbon dioxide] which is necessary for plant growth and life on earth has been reduced 22% in the United States but, of course, these numbers conflict with “the narrative” that the end is near.

We have all been told that we should not eat meat, butter, cheese, etc because we are ruining the planet and that we should eat insects.   Meat is to be reserved for the super elite, the rulers and no one else. Now the attack has gone out against growing rice as “this makes methane”.  If there was any doubt that the intent is to kill off large numbers of people it should now be crystal clear.  Kill them in the womb in America and starve them to death where rice is the staple. Did anyone mention Bill Gates?

At the SOOGA meeting former Creston resident Jim Javins, who has been on the puny list, was given the Hall of Fame Award while Brooksville oil & gas man Winnie Sinnett was given the Work Horse Award.

In the United Kingdom it was reported that 92% of the COVID deaths were folks who were triple vaxxed.  Now some of the “true believers” have admitted that the “vaccines” were of dubious value and that some need to be prosecuted.  Treatments to pregnant women have come under intense scrutiny.  Of course the government is still advertising just like snake oil hucksters did in prior times.

The ruling junta has announced that [to assist in a new housing bubble burst] folks with good credit are to be penalized on their mortgages to assist those with bad credit since we must be “equitable”.  This is merely a reward for bad behaviour.

Natural gas fetched just $2.23/MMBTU at the Henry Hub in Louisiana and some companies have advised that they are shutting in their wells to avoid “giving away” a valuable product.  The CoBank based in Denver with a branch in Singapore said that cheap gas will end soon as more coal power plants are shut down and as more natural gas [presently 20%] goes for export as LNG.  Then some said, “Who/what is CoBank?”  Turns out it is a government agency [independent of course, don’t you know] which “loans money to Farm Credit”.  It would appear that it is a combination of all the old Federal Land Banks.  The one locally was the Federal land Bank of Baltimore.  We’re from the government and we’re here to help you.

The price of local Pennsylvania grade crude is now just $76.87/bbl. with condensate fetching only $60.87/bbl. with Marcellus & Utica light bringing $67.87 & medium $76.87/bbl.
