Zoodles: Hopping from State to State to Educate

Students at Arnoldsburg Elementary had a very special visit from Zoodles on Tuesday when Chris Lee, Educator and Animal Handler for Zoodles introduced the children to multiple critters from a cockatoo to a royal python .

The main attraction was “Tippy Toes,” an African tortoise, who roamed the gymnasium during the entire presentation. This pet weighs over 80 pounds and is known to grow as large as 110 pounds.

“Sydney,” a white cockatoo, flaunted a beautiful crown of feathers on its head while also repeating words such as “hello” and “mom.”

Students enjoyed having pictures taken with a royal African python snake, a non-poisonous snake. The students anxiously sat and listened to facts about the animal. This includes the interesting fact that these “royal pythons” are called by this name because African royalty used to wear these snakes as jewelry to important events and parties.

Another animal treat was the cuddly prairie dog named “Nibbles.” The four-legged animal hopped on its hind legs and made noises, which inspired laughs and more excitement from the onlookers.

However, the excitement didn’t end there, as students had the opportunity to get their pictures taken with a few animals, including the royal python, the white cockatoo, and other smaller tortoises.
