Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, 74, of Spencer, died Thursday, November 10, 2022, following an ATV accident.
He was born August 15, 1948, at Spencer, a son of the late Ores R. and Ethel āElaineā Miller Longfellow.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Fordyce and Bertha Miller, who raised him.
Henry was the owner and barber of Longfellow Barber Shop of Spencer. He also loved being a farmer. He spent countless hours working on the farm with his wife.Henry and Delores were the owners of Circle L Farms and were awarded Conservation Farmer of the Year, once for Roane County and once for the District.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Delores Jean Epling Longfellow, who he married on November 20, 1965; children, Dora (Robert) Tawney of Parkersburg, Lora (Richard) Tawney of Buckhannon, and Mark Longfellow of Missouri; grandchildren, Megan (Chad) Bennett, Morgan (John) Morehead, Austin Tawney, Amanda Tawney, Makynzee Jenks, and Madisyn Longfellow; great grandchildren, Gabriella, Harper, Layne, Drake, Wells, and Wryn; a sister, Beth Burd of Huntington.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, November 13 at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer.
