The 65th Annual Mt Zion/Calhoun County Ox Roast will be held at the Mt Zion Community Park, 5801 South Calhoun Highway on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025.
We will be celebrating 65 years of memories and looking forward to the future. First, we will need to clean out the pit TBA. On Friday morning August 22, we will meet to start the fire @ 6:00am and it will need to be tended and stoked throughout the day.
On Friday between 5 & 6 pm we will meet to cut and wrap the meat and place it in the pit. We cheerfully welcome all volunteers to come and help.
On Saturday August 23 the work starts around 9:00 am with the set up of the serving line and getting things ready to go. We start serving at 11:00 am and serve until 4:30 – 5:00 pm.
We close out our day with our annual auction.
