To the Ridgeview News:
There was a half page ad in chronicle, that pertained to a complaint made about $2,500 that the Calhoun commissioner’s gave to the Upper west fork park for fruit baskets for senior citizens. According to Anita West, $583.00 was spent for fruit, $800 for gift cards, and $540.00 for toys. So that along with $700.00 in anonymous donations made $3,200. The total according to Ms. West that was spent was $1,923.00 published in paper.
I was also informed that donations do not require receipts. I think we have a right to know how our tax dollars are spent. I also think this year that $500.00 would be a good donation from the Commission, as that was all that was spent on fruit.
Thank you,
Pauline Ferrell
