Minnie Hamilton Health System received 14,297 lbs. of food from the West Virginia Department of Agriculture on Thursday, December 14th, 2023 and distributed it at the Arnoldsburg Community Park. With the cost of groceries and other necessities of life skyrocketing, those on a limited income are struggling to take care of themselves and families.
Calhoun County has long been known for helping one another when times are rough, and Minnie Hamilton as well as the First Baptist Food Bank and the Calhoun FRN are key in the survival of the neighborhood. Frozen and canned goods are staples in the cupboards when families can’t afford to run to the grocery store.
Helping to separate, box and distribute were employees from Minnie Hamilton Health System, Hope Gas, Upper West Fork Fire Department, Grantsville Fire Department, The Calhoun Chronicle and Ridgeview News.
