Veterans and Speakers for the Event

A big crowd was on hand for the Creston Veteran’s DAY program and several said it was the best one ever.  Sen. Donna Boley was the lead speaker followed by Jerry Smith(Conda’s son) who gave an excellent talk about the empty table remembering those still held in POW camps, etc.  USMC Major Kyle Hutson, as usual gave a great talk concerning his 20 years of active duty and his son Chesney, the president of his 7th grade, gave a great speech about the importance of honoring veterans.

Melissa West gave a speech about Gold Star Mothers.  After the talks there was food and fellowship for all who came.  Mr. & Mrs. Mike Davis who are active in the DAV came and, among other things, visited with local family & learned about his family history during the American Revolution.

With all events at the Creston Community Building the younger set had fun on the merry go ’round.  In fact Maj. Huston said he was pushing anyone who wanted to ride.

Rev. Kevin Gillespie hurt his back so there was only Sunday School at the Burning Springs M. E. Church.  Next week there will be no services.  The Sunday School lesson, in part, concerned “arguments” over various parts of the Holy Land.  The answer to the King of Amman could have been written by Bibi, the Jewish leader who the Big Eared One and those who answer to him hate.  Judges, chapters 10 & 11 tell the story.

Mr. & Mrs. Thomas deVries new  baby daughter’s name is Esmeralda Lulu Mae.

Betty Bish is now walking with a walker and goes to have a special boot made for her on Monday.

Both Ira J. Lynch, Sr. and his daughter Tammy are suffering with Dr. Fauci’s Wuhan Kung Flu virus.

November and Jacques Frost came to Creston in an emphatic manner.  Now most of the leaves are down.  Speaking of leaves, Ted Grim and the comely Debbie removed all the leaves from around the Creston Community Building.

It was reported that the federal judge in the case concerning wrongdoing in the Southern Regional Jail was “upset” when it was learned that the State of
W. Va. destroyed all the e-mails & records concerning the case.  Did they think that they were above the law like Hillary? No doubt the $$$ punishment against the state [and the taxpayers] will be substantial.  Seems strange but it would appear that the main objective is to make sure that the governor does not get called to testify.

Naomi Toler had another flat tire while delivering the mail on the Richardsonville Road.  Mandee Richards hooked up the hose and the air blew out almost as fast as she was putting it in.

Alvie Ferrell was visiting Mr. & Mrs. Carl Ferrell & family.

Alvin Engelke still have some loving little kittens that need a home.

Local residents attended the spaghetti dinner in Elizabeth for the benefit of the Hope Shop.  It was reported that the Creston Food Pantry has purchased the Thanksgiving turkeys.

Antero, the Denver based firm that is a major player in the W. Va. Marcellus noted that their profits were way up and now the firm is selling 3.5 billion cubit feet of gas equivalents/day along with 202,000 bbl./day of NGLs [natural gas liquids, ethane, propane, n-butane, iso butane, etc.  In some of their new leases they are asking folks to give them the liquids for free.  A fellow who lives a few counties away received notice that he was being force pooled even though the company had not bothered to contact him for a lease. In a just world, Sen. President Baldy Blair & some other fine folks would he held liable for what they did to the Srate of West Virginia and its citizens.

At long last W. Va. 14 in Elizabeth is being paved.  Those going that way need to “allow for delays.”

It was learned that the State of W. Va. is paying $115,000/well for plugging using federal [taxpayer] funds.

While the price of natural gas at the Henry Hub [in Louisiana] rose to $3.52 and the Pennsylvania price rose to $2.37, gas sold from Owl Hill brought just 2 cents/MCF.  Several producers reported getting bills for the gas that they produced.  One firm was advised they could wire the money to a bank in Texas  — yeah, fat chance.

The price of local Pennsylvania grade crude oil dipped to $79.51/bb. with condensate fetchiing just $61.51/bbl. and Marcellus & Utica light bringing $70.51 and medium $79.51/bbl.
