Eleanor Marie Caltabiano, 90, of Grantsville, WV, peacefully departed this life on January 8, 2024, at home with family.
She was born on April 27, 1933, in Camden, NJ, to Ernest G. Bingemann and Helen L. Bingemann (Liebert).
She was a graduate of Camden, NJ Woodrow Wilson High School Class of 1951. She was a long time employee of Boeing Vertol in Ridley Township Pa from 1965 until her retirement in 1995. While there she was primarily a retirement benefit coordinator, and helped many hundreds of Boeing employees receive their retirement benefits from the company. Once retired she enjoyed her summers at Wildwood on the Jersey shore with her beloved Italian Greyhound Stormy. In later years she moved to Grantsville, West Virgina, to be nearer to family. From early childhood through her retirement years, she had a passion for travel and history, and was fortunate enough to visit most of the continental United States as well as many countries in Europe and abroad. While residing in West Virgina she enjoyed going to the local senior center, where she was known for her quick wit and jaunty hats. She had a strong belief in wildlife and nature conservation and supported many animal welfare and nature conservation groups. She is preceded in death by her parents and ex-husband, William J. Caltabiano. She is survived by her daughter, Diana Austin (Caltabiano).
Her wishes were to be cremated, and in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to any local animal shelter in need at this time of year.
