Rev. Kevin Gillespie filled his regular appointment at the Burning Springs M. E. Church.
Several Creston area residents were among the over 78 folks who attended the candidate Meet & Greet Saturday in Elizabeth. County Assessor Keith Wilson held a very successful pie auction. Both candidates, Mike Stuart & J. B. McCuskey, for Atty. General were present as was Chris Warner who is running for Sec. of State. Caleb Hanna the candidate the “powers that be” hate for state auditor was present & gave a very good presentation. Derrick Evans, who is running to retire RINO congresswoman Carol Miller explained why she needs to go back home and help with the family used car lot as Mrs. Miller recently proved that she is part of the deep state. Both candidate for the W. Va. House of Delegates were present and gave good talks. Also the local Wirt County candidates were present and several noted that they were glad to have the chance to see, meet and talk with local candidates that they did not know.
On Tuesday the big storm hit with downed trees, no electric, telephone or internet. The Cherry section (mouth of Chestnut Run) was hit hard as were other sections in both Wirt & Calhoun counties [and elsewhere]. While the river was up there was no flooding like in Marietta Ohio and other Ohio River communities. Both W. Va. Route 5 and the Richardsonville road were closed for a time. The April Creston Community Building was postponed until April 9 and it was duly noted “until after the eclipse”.
Cap’n Spock motored to Apollo Pennsylvania to have Frank Gazzo’s crew put a new tarp on his big chariot. The job cost less than $4,000 compared to the $12,000 price over in Ritchie County. It was noted that Pennsylvania had highways that were like washboards. Perhaps the green weenies there want folks to “use other means” to travel. Maybe a few could ride brooms but ordinary folks have few if any alternatives.
Kathy Arthur has been on the sick list.
Local residents have been getting polling calls concerning the primary election next month. One call was obviously on the behalf of Skaff, the liberal fellow who wants no voter ID and same day registration as is done where charter buses bring voters from precinct to precinct, county to county and state to state.
It was reported that the State of Tennessee has banned the addition of M-RNA additions to food as had been pushed by Bill Gates. Gates & his buddy Dr. Fauci want to ban people saying “bad things [like truth]” about them and their nefarious schemes. Those who took the Jabs now may have their life spans reduced by 25 years and now there is the talk of the new disease to strike about election time. Pure coincidence don’t cha know?
Spring beauties, phlox, violets and blue bells are in their glory. The big blue bell patch is along the river just upstream from the mouth of Nettle Run on W. Va. 5.
One local resident when she went to get her prescription was told that she could only get part as there are major shortages of life saving medicines with no solution in sight. Perhaps it is not a good idea to rely upon an avowed enemy to supply America’s needs. It would seem that bribes to the big guy work but not for U. S. citizens.
Mike Shaver’s Mountain V announced the purchase of AXP Energy that has wells in Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee and the Illinois basin.
Natural gas from Creston that is 18% ethane fetched just $1.60/mcf. New drilling permits have pretty much dried up although CNX & Antero are obviously contemplating more Marcellus wells to the north & east of the Creston area.
As a result, so we are told, of Iran’s threat to Israel the price of local Pennsylvania grade crude rose to $85.91/bbl. with condensate fetching $67.91/bbl. Marcellus & Utica light was $76.91 and medium $85.91/bbl. Seems that the Big Eared One’s hatred for Israel and that nation’s leader and his love for Iran even impact Creston. The ruling junta sold the oil in the national petroleum reserve to China and now it is said the reserve will not be filled. Such was to be for war & real emergencies.
