In a social media post on the Wirt County Sheriff’s Facebook page this morning, the “End of Watch” was announced for Sheriff Darrell Null.
Wirt County Sheriff Lewis J. Peck informed Ridgeview News this morning that Sheriff Null had resigned in March 2024 due to a battle with cancer. Sheriff Peck was appointed for the remaining term effective March 15th, 2024.
Sheriff Null lost his battle with cancer on June 24th, 2024.
