Lynda Rae Jarvis, 83, of Chloe, WV passed away Tuesday November 6, 2024, at Roane General Hospital in Spencer.
She and her twin sister Pat were born on January 16, 1941, in Phoenix, AZ to Stanton and Josephine Cook, they were two of seven children. The “twins” as they were called both graduated from Arroyo High School in El Monte, CA in 1959. Lynda enjoyed farm life with her late husband Jr. Jarvis and their five children, Jim Allison (Cindy) of CO, Judy Allison of Chloe, the late Julie Allison, Carolyn Bowers (Mike) of NC, and Sandy Coleman (Larry) of Oak Hill. They especially enjoyed their grandchildren – Aaron, Jasmine, Heather, Jason, Justin and Liza, and their great grandchildren – Landon, Alyah, Casset and Spencer. Aside from raising a family and helping manage a farm, Lynda was also a long-time (30 years) volunteer at Minnora and Arnoldsburg elementary schools. She also was passionate about politics and often worked at the local election polls, she was also an avid reader. Lynda was the patriarch and a beacon, always welcoming those for long stays and great meals on the farm.
She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband Jr., daughter Julie, granddaughter Meredith and great-daughter Alexis.
A graveside service will be conducted by Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Arnoldsburg, WV, on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Minnora Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.stumpfuneralhomes.com
