A big crowd was on hand Sunday for the Creston Community Veterans Day event. The building was decorated and tasty treats were served to all that came, veterans, families, young folks, friends & neighbors. There were several excellent speakers and Charles White’s daughter read the poem her father wrote while “vacationing in the tropical paradise” of Vietnam back in the 1960s.
Lorena McKown, age 87, of Barberton passed away. She was the daughter of Herb & Ethel Maze Rader and the widow of Garrell McKown who, among other things, was a hard worker for the Creston Community Building. Burial was in the Big Bend/Knight cemetery.
Creston, like most of the nation had a record turnout and participated in the Trump landslide to save the nation & bring peace to the world. As an example, the Hamas terrorists asked for cease fire & Qatar said they were no longer going to be involved with the terror group. Early voting broke records locally as elsewhere and turnout on election day was stunning. On the state level many feel that Patrick Morrisey who is not beholden to the big Charleston law firms will bring a new day to West Virginia politics which should be an improvement for ordinary citizens – maybe not so much for the oligarchs this time.
On the national scene the green weenies are promising “lawfare” against Trump and some are calling for militias to fight against the popular mandate for change.
Some Creston & Annamoriah residents attended the W. Va. State Farm Bureau meeting at Flatwoods. There was much joy there over the state & national election results which should stop the nation’s slide into socialism & tyranny. A question was raised if ADM (Archer Daniels Midland) and others like them would try to stop the reforms called for by Robert Kennedy, Jr. to clean up the nation’s food supply to stop all the health problems that presently impact both the youth and others in the nation. ADM “owns” several US Senators just like some oil & gas firms “own” W. Va. legislators.
Speaking of the W. Va. Legislature, Baldy Blair who was beat in the primary is trying to figure out how he can move to respace Charlie Trump who was selected to be a W. Va. Supreme Court justice. Meanwhile the little Tarr baby is scheming to become W. Va. State Senate president.
Several nice bucks have been harvested in the general Creston area and Creston received some more rain. Rain, or the lack thereof, was one of the major topics of discussion at the state Farm Bureau meeting. It would appear that the last time it was this dry was during the 1930s.
Several new Marcellus well permits were issued in West Virginia and those who deal in such matters talk of an immense increase in the need for natural gas to fire new power plants and data centers. Along those lines Microsoft just paid $26.85 million for 1385 acres in Person County North Carolina that is near a big natural gas pipeline, Some feel that this will be a “data center” facilities that use large amounts of power.
While certain areas of the state have had freezes & some have had snow many places still have unfrozen flower beds, pepper plants and kudzu that is still green & growing.
The price for local Pennsylvania grade crude dipped to $69.38/bbl. With condensate fetching just $51.38/bbl. And Marcellus & Utica light bringing only $58.38/bbl. The Henry Hub price of natural gas was $2.69.
