Letter to the Publisher from Reed Krack

WOW!

What is going on and what is happening in Calhoun County.

I mentioned at the August 12th meeting of the county commissioners that there is an awful lot of cheerleading going on for a certain person and her endeavors. It looks like a bunch of school boys not community leaders.

One obvious point of view  that our questionable leaders are missing is that a large part of Calhoun’s citizens are not on board with the direction the commissioners and our press is taking in Calhoun.

The next election will prove wether I am right or wrong. Remember to vote…

“Who’s side are you on”?

The dreams of these elites are not nessaceraly the dreams of the voter’s. l thought that was obvious at the August 12th meeting.

We need and require our commissioners and our press to cheerlead and represent us all EQUALLY.

It has gotten so bad that our press and commission are practically calling the people of who they disagree names and insinuating that we are all to stupid to know what is good for ourselves selves…then turn around and say they are for unity.

WOW! Look at the paper in print and on line and look whose name along with her interest are covered over and over with little mentioned about the people of Calhouns interest.

My goodness these special interests are allowed to write their own front page articles promoting themselves over and over.

Here is something else to consider at the August 12th meeting it was reported and bragged about, I believe, that the pool had made $65,000

In the past few months yet its being asked that the tax payers of Calhoun pay a $1,000 for a free swim day what was the point of bringing up the $65,000 the pool brought in? Did it not pay for itself? If it did pay for itself then why is the community being asked to cough up a

$1,000?

I’m sorry… but in my opinion its starting to look like a lot of smoke and mirrors.

The proof is in the pudding. What has been the net improvements for the average peron in Calhoun?

They call for unity…right… you’re actually fighting and calling each other names over a swing! Its obvious the swing should go to the park… and by the way how much tourism and financial benefit is that swing bringing to the average peron in the county… again in my opinion very little… its a swing after all. By the way who along with their interests are being promoted to get the swing over our park getting the swing… guess who!

I’ve been around a long time and it is insulting that these things are happening over and over with the muckety mucks approval over the true needs of the people.

Hallelujah a West Virginia swing nice thought, street lamps and swimming pool nice thoughts… these things don’t improve my life one bit.

The school I believe is called Avalon. I have asked and not received an answer…if Avalon draws students from our local schools how does that affect funding for our local schools? Funding is based on enrollment numbers.

Once again street lamps, swimming pool, West Virginia swing ect… how have these things improved the average person’s life in Calhoun? Give me the facts

not BS .

I said at the August 12th meeting of the commission

that I was backing off with my opinions for awhile to see what happens.

It is almost impossible with the agenda I believe I am seeing being pushed upon us from all directions continuously.

As some people said in the meeting…they have lost their trust in the commission… after they gave their trust in the last election!

The commission needs to remember its the people of Calhoun County they are charged with looking after.

Remember they just rushed through an Ordinance which could possibly hurt many people in the county. Go figure!

Lets start with rescinding that Ordinance once and for all!

Show up to meetings, and be sure to vote for candidates that truly have your best interest at heart and who govern with your beliefs and best interest at heart.

These are my beliefs and I am sticking to them until shown why they are misguided.

I have saved the last fifteen copies of the Chronicle to prove my point.

  1. The commissioners are doing a great job,in my opinion. They did take on everyone’s concerns and rescinded the ordinance.
Why you would put down an organization that is doing so much for our kids, gkids I have no idea.
It’s not costing you a dime,we have lived here for 70+ plus yrs watched my Dad,most of my family go off to pipeline, because no work here.
If there is a chance that business can be brought to this area, that would be a wonderful thing.
As for thinking Ms Mersh was bragging about the 65,000 from pool you’re sadly mistaken. After expenses from pool are deducted every dime of that money will go to co-op 17 teens hired for the summer by the 1082 foundation.
So before you slam someone that is trying to save this county, get your facts straight.

  2. And another thing, who are you going to prove a point to,that you need 15 newspapers? Maybe you need to support the kids more. Ppl supported your son & was very proud of him.

  3. The fact is it was reported that the pool took in $65,000 in a few months time according to the numbers given at the August 12th meeting.
The fact is a request was made of the county commissioners to approve a $1,000 for a free swim day. That fact was I believe in our local media.
The fact is the cheerleading continues.

  4. Ps,
My son and family donated many hours supporting any one who asked for help from my son. That is another fact!
Leave my family out of your comments.

    1. right back at you……leave me and our efforts out of your comments….none of your business at all…..it is a non profit with a mission ….you haven’t contributed in any way ….so none of ur business at all….you are so off base it is not even worth addressing. All political ploys and very poor ones at that.
