In a complaint filed by Cpl. Brian E Young of the Grantsville Detachment of the West Virginia State Police, Young said that on October 7th, 2025 at approximately 2:30 p.m. he was notified by Calhoun County 911 of an active burglary in process at 14464 S Calhoun Highway, Arnoldsburg, Calhoun County, WV.
Cpl Young proceeded to that location at a high rate of speed along with DNR officer Jonathan Holcomb in front of him.
The homeowner and the victim, Ross Vineyard, had called 911 and reported that a female had pulled up to his residence in a blue vehicle and had moved to the back of the residence. The victim stated he was watching all of this happen live on his security cameras. The accused, Angel Grimmet, knocked out a window on the bottom floor in the rear of the house and entered the residence. The accused then moved to the second floor of the residence and began gathering items, to include an Ipad valued at $500, and a kitchen utensil valued at $5.
The victim was giving updates of the accused movement through the residence and what she was doing as officer Holcomb arrived and gained entry through the garage and moved to the kitchen area where the accused was still located. During this time officer Holcomb inquired to the accused to what she had in her hands, to which she replied it was her iPad. The accused was then placed under arrest and due to her injuries sustained while breaking the window, was taken to Minnie Hamilton hospital where she received medical care for her injuries.
The accused was then transported to the WVSP detachment in Grantsville where she was processed and charged with breaking and entering with larceny being the underlying crime.
Forty year old Angel Dawn Grimmet is being held in the WV Central Regional Jail after being arraigned by Magistrate Lora Davis and placed on a $50,000 cash only bond in cases 25-M07F-00045 and 25M07F-00046. Burglary and Grand Larceny.
