When providing the Calhoun County Commission a report on October 13, 2026 of the 2026 Calhoun County Park projects and achievements, there was an accidental oversight that the Board wanted to make sure was addressed. The board failed to mention the great amount of work done by those involved with the Appalachian Classic. The park is very proud of the effort and hard work that went into preparing the trails and the planning for the Appalachian event by Erin Springston and others. It would never their intention to overlook something that important to the community.
