Ridgeview News attempts to stay on top of local meetings, but it seems if I’m looking to the right, there’s something going on to the left that get’s missed. I depend on local government and organizations to let me know if there’s something going on that the community needs to be aware of. It cost them nothing but a few minutes or less to prepare an email. When the County Commission/County Clerk says that a meeting has been published, it’s often published on a bulletin board on the front of the courthouse. In this day of technology, this should not be the case to inform the community and is certainly not what’s expected. I doubt there are very many people who swing into the courthouse daily to see if anything has transpired that needs their attention. That being said, I appreciate Commissioner Arthurs post and did reach out to him regarding the possibility of a Wednesday Commission meeting.
At 9:00 a.m. in the Little Courtroom of the Courthouse, there will be a Commission meeting for the purpose of discussing ARPA Funding. The 1.2 Million Dollars up for discussion isn’t something that should be taken lightly by the Commission or the Community. These funds need to be utilized in the best possible place of infrastructure for the communities best interest. There are certainly options, but most importantly there are needs that outweigh others.
Please attend and let the County know the Community has an opinion. Please share this post on your social media page. Let your friends and neighbors know.
$1.2 Million is a considerable sum of money. With matching dollars at stake, and a Commission that is not known for staying on top of things, the community needs to make sure our interest is being looked after.
