A Letter of Gratitude

Ridgeview News is for certain a labor of love without regret for the time it takes, tears of joy and frustration, or the occasional critical commentary from a few less than happy people. I’m nearing my second anniversary, (January 1) and I pray that the next year is filled with more good news than bad, and that my skill level increases as well as my commitment to covering the events in and around Calhoun County.

It wouldn’t be me if I didn’t apologize for what I feel were “avoidable failures.” I could have been less scattered, more focused and more available. In all honesty I can use your help with that. I have hundreds of posts coming in on my social media feeds, and I fully understand why people think that I could just pick up their news and run with it. But the problem is, I often don’t see it. Because I am so often in Grantsville covering local government and events, Arnoldsburg and the West Fork get less coverage. That breaks my heart. Because I know there are some awesome things happening in those areas, but I’m not always aware.

I’m a free source of publicity for everyone in this area and those counties surrounding us. And please always keep in mind that I am willingly offering free publicity for events, but the operation of Ridgeview News is far from free. I’ve kept my advertising rates down because I want to be a blessing to the businesses and if they grow, our community grows, and hopefully more advertisers will come on board. Any contributions you could make to Ridgeview News, especially during this time of year when bills are up and funds are low, would help immensely.
