Allison Charged in Calhoun County for Financial Exploitation of an Elderly Person

A complaint has been filed in the Magistrate Court office of Lora Davis, by WV State Trooper, Glenville Detachment, Senior Trooper S.D. Morris against Nathan Samuel Allison of Grantsville.

According to the complaint, on Friday, August 8th, 2025 at approximately 11:38 a.m. Trooper Morris was contacted by Diana Sartin by phone and later in person where she provided the Trooper with a Statement regarding fraud.

Mrs. Sartin stated that she had placed an order for a head stone with A&A Monument Services with Nathan Allison and Craig Arthur. Mrs. Sartin advised that she paid $1,500.00 in full for the monument on September 25th, 2023, sending the check to Nathan Allison, which was cashed on October 6th, 2023 in Calhoun County, West Virginia. Sartin provided information that Nathan Allison did not contact her for further information regarding the headstone, a refund or product information. The officer was advised by Mrs. Sartin that she was contacted by Nathan Allison via Facebook Messenger after she had informed him that she was preparing to get the Attorney General’s Office involved. Mrs. Sartin further stated that Nathan Allison was hateful with her and begged her not to provide the Attorney General’s Office with the sale or business conduct information. Mrs. Sartin was 65 years old at the time of this transaction.

Trooper Morris observed the check written to “Nathan Allison” on September 25, 2023 for $1,500.00 by Diana Sartin as well as observing that the check was cashed on October 6, 2023 in Calhoun County, West Virginia. Mrs. Sartin provided information to the officer that she did not receive the product, a refund or services regarding the product she had paid for.

Sr. Trooper Morris has received multiple complaints from the Attorney General’s Office regarding information of the same crime being committed by Nathan Allison, the business owner of A&A Monument Services. The officer was able to observe repetitive actions within each complaint that supports a common scheme or plan, where Nathan Allison has failed to provide customers with the product after their payment had been received.

Trooper Morris received a statement via telephone at the WV State Police Detachment in Glenville, from Nathan Allison who informed him that Craig Arthur was no longer his business partner with A&A Monument Services during the time of this transaction. Mr. Allison also advised the officer that he was going to send a check to Mrs. Sartin on that same day, at which time the officer advised Mr. Allison that Criminal Charges had already taken place.

Nathan Allison turned himself in at the Gilmer County Magistrate Court Office on August 11th, 2025 and paid 10% of the Cash bond set at $20,000.

Allison is facing the same charge in Gilmer County for another victim which is set for a Preliminary Hearing on August 13th, 2025 in Gilmer County. He has been released on a $20,000 bond in the Gilmer County Case as well.
