Barbara Grey Roberts, 88, of Nobe, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on June 11, 2026, at her home.
She was born April 23, 1938, in Gilmer County, WV, a daughter of the late James H. and Fonda Radabaugh Whipkey.
Barb was married to Charles “Chink” Roberts for 54 years. She was an active member of Chapel Baptist Church. She loved singing in the choir and helping serve her church community. She enjoyed family reunions, cooking for family— making her delicious biscuits, and talking on the phone to family and friends, as she did all the time.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Donzel and Marvin; sisters Willodean and Minnie Mae; granddaughter, Rachel; daughter-in-law, Karen
Left to cherish her memory are her three sons, Kenneth Lee, Thomas Joe (Donna), and Samuel Eugene; brothers, Gail and Wavel; grandchildren, Jesse, Jill, Ryan, TJ, Hunter, Mercy, Criss, and Amanda; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed by all she loved, her boys and grandchildren. Her greatest joy was having them come visit. A special Thank You to Barb’s caregivers, Sandy Harris and family who took special care of her. Thank you also to those who stopped by to visit her.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., at Chapel Baptist Church, with Pastors Tom Law and Harold Francis officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in Nobe Cemetery.
