Bill to Hold Employers Liable for COVID-19 Vaccine Mandates Introduced

A Bill introduced in the West Virginia Legislature (SB578) on February 3, 2022, would make an employer responsible if an employee has injury, disease or death from a mandated COVID-19 vaccine. A note at the end of the introduced bill stated in simplistic terms said:

NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to make employers liable for injury or death to employees who become ill or die following an employer mandated Covid-19 vaccine.

The bill further states it would also hold the business responsible with civil action permitted if a mandate is enforced that requires an employee to be vaccinated to retain employment.

The bill was introduced by Wayne County representative Mark Maynard (R) and has been referred to the Committee on the Judiciary and then to the Committee on Finance. To read the entire introduction follow this LINK
