Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center Brings Home Gold from the WV SkillsUSA State Conference

Amber Hatfield, silver medalist & Ryan Beron, gold medalist

On March 25 and 26, eight Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center students with advisors traveled to Fairmont State University to compete at the 2022 SkillsUSA West Virginia State Leadership & Skills Conference.  We are excitedto report that Ryan Beron is the State Champion Welder placing 1st and earning a Gold Medal in Welding (High School) and Amber Hatfield placed 2nd earning a Silver Medal in Welding (Post Graduate).

Welding – Ryan Beron, 1st place

Welding (Post Graduate) – Amber Hatfield, 2nd Place

Automotive Service Technology – Cody Blosser, 9th Place

Welding Fabrication team – Zachary Brannon, Jarrid Klapka, Matthew Siers, 9th place

Medical Terminology – Zenna Zwoll, attending but not placing in the top 10
