CMHS Parent Teachers Organization hosts Successful Scholastic Event

The Calhoun Middle High School Parent Teacher Organization met in the Commons area of CMHS on Monday evening at 5 p.m. The newly reorganized group is lead by PTO President Jeff Hunt who hopes to build the organization, get parents active and involved in the school to make a positive difference. Five PTO members attended the meeting with staff representative, Debra McClain informing the group of last week’s successful scholastic book fair fundraiser that netted a profit of $1,225.57 for the PTO organization. The group currently has a balance of $3,679.20 in their account before the new funds are added.

The group plans to begin working on the Santa’s Secret Workshop in May, that will allow students to shop for inexpensive Christmas gifts for family and friends in December. Other plans were made to encourage the students at the end of the school year, and be involved in the back to school bash.

The Next CMHS PTO meeting will be held April 24th at 5 p.m. in the Commons area. All families of Calhoun Middle High School students are encouraged to attend and bring your ideas to the table to make the School a Welcome place to be for everyone.
