Commissioner Lupardus Speaks to the WV Legislature on Senate Bill 501

Commissioner Eric Lupardus, who has been active in the framing of Senate Bill 501, spoke to Legislators on Monday, February 9th, 2026 to encourage the Legislature to pass Bill 501 and to highlight how it will help Calhoun County.

Commissioner Lupardus stressed the fact that although Calhoun County does not always have the means for economic opportunities, through this bill we have the chance to promote scenic secondary roads and off highway touring. It will provide not only economic development but safe, responsible backroad tourism as well.

Commissioner Lupardus, working with Jerry Bain and others will be celebrating the grand opening of Waypoint Zero, a new Adventure Campground located at the Calhoun County Park at Mt. Zion on June 6, 2026.

Waypoint Zero promoters will be available on the second floor of the Capitol complex on Thursday for Legislators to view their materials.
