Creston News: Global Warming Conference and other Hot Topics

Rev. Kevin Gillespie filled his regular appointment at the Burning Springs M. E. Church.

The Creston Community Christmas party will be Saturday, December 16 at the Community Building.  The meal will be at 3 P. M. and a visitor from the far northern latitudes is scheduled to arrive at 5 P. M.  Please contact Barb at 275-0006 to advise what side dish you are bringing for the meal.  Everyone is welcome.

Carl Ferrell is to have heart bypass Monday morning in Huntington.

Kathleen Cervonne’s sister Linda who lives in Columbus is not doing well at all. Sister Nancy has been staying with her.  Her husband also took a turn for the worse and was unable to come home.

Some Creston & Annamoriah residents attended the Farm Bureau/W. Va. Forestry Association legislative dinner at the Wood County 4-H grounds.  There was a big crowd.

The state road is once again trimming tree limbs along W. Va. 5 as, it would appear that the state is awash in cash that needs to be spent and all the maintenance work is done,  However, it was learned that a bridge up Lynn Camp was deemed unsafe and parents from there had to go to school to get their children.  But the “tree trimming” involves big contracts and, gee whiz, some folks have to pay for their lavish vacations.

J. P. Marks & Steve Loudin were among those calling at the Creston Space Dock.

The class action lawsuits against Tug Hill and Jay Bee are being finalized.  Both were accused of wrongfully taking deductions from royalty payments from Marcellus & Utica wells.

Poor Diedra is suffering from a very bad case of TDS.  Seems she fears that the “Christians” are going to “get her”.  Perhaps we should all be concerned that the “new Nazis/terror supporters” want to kill us all.  Israel is the “little satan” and America is the “great satan” and it is always “death to the infidels” both Jewish and Christian.

Also, she calls Trump a “grifter”.  Grifters are neer do well folks who get into politics and get rich like the Manchins, Soteros, Clintons, Bidens, etc. Trump is the only modern day president who ended his presidency not as wealthy as when he started. One might also wonder about the hatred for the Bible that was written by a group of Hebrew/Jewish men.  Were Moses, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Matthew, Peter, John & Paul evil men?

The big “global warming” conference continues in the air conditioned comfort of luxury hotels in the United Arab Emirates. Some of the private jets that were bringing some of the 70,000 party goers to the conference couldn’t leave the airport in Munich Germany because of excess snow & ice.  The UN head honcho Antonio Guterres said that we would have to stop producing oil & gas to which one Arab noted that the problem, if there was one, was how the products were used.  He noted it would be like blaming farmers for an excess of obesity.  Another noted that if the UN biggie was sincere about “global warming” he would have arrived in a wooden sailing ship equipped with oars rather than by private jet.  While there the attendees feasted on the best of fare while saying that we should subsist on insects.  U S “climate envoy” John Heintz Kerry did his personal part in generating unnatural gas during his speech/rant.

The Henry Hub price of natural gas is now $2.58/MMBTU while local customers who buy gas retail pay $13 or more. One well known Calhoun oil & gas man sells a consequential amount of natural gas in Gilmer County directly to Hope Gas, the residential supplier that has almost 150,000 customers.  He was paid just 5 cents/mcf and the company has the nerve to ask for a rate increase.  Such a price reminds one of the account from over a century ago, likely in 1920 when Eva Engelke was having natural gas installed in her mother’s home which she shared.  Godfrey L. Cabot himself was overseeing the installation by his wo4rkers.  Mrs. Engelke asked, “What will be the price of the gas?” Mr. Cabot answered,”15 cents/ thousand.”  She then said, “How long will it be 15 cents/thousand?”  To which Mr. Cabot replied, “As long as there is gas in my lines.”  In those days gas sold wholesale at 6 cents/mcf., just for the purpose of perspective.

Derrick Evans who is running for congress was visiting with voters in Grantsville and at Cabot Station.

The price of local Pennsylvania grade crude dipped to $70.23/bbl. with condensate, formerly known as Appalachian light sweet was just $52.23/bbl.  Marcellus & Utica light was $61.23 and medium brought $70.23/bbl.
