
Danny Lynn Badgett, 73, of Big Springs, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026, at WVU Camden-Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg, West Virginia, with his family by his side.
He was born February 3, 1953, on Sang Run, Chloe, WV, the youngest of Charter and Geneva (Jarvis) Badgett.
Danny was preceded in death by his loving parents, Charter and Geneva Badgett, and two brothers, Kenith (Linda) Badgett of Chloe and Ronald (Myrtle) Badgett of Arnoldsburg.
He is survived by his three brothers, Shirly (Kathy) of Big Springs, Charter Bee (Karen) of Chloe, and Charles Lee of Grantsville. He is also survived by a special niece, Melissa Badgett Cunningham (Jason) of Big Springs, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family who will cherish his memory.
Danny was a gentle soul with a gruff exterior. He lived a simple life and enjoyed simple pleasures. He enjoyed hunting, talking on the phone, especially with Gabby (Linda), and woodworking. He was a wonderful caretaker for his mother and was very proud of the home they had maintained together.
Danny loved animals, especially his beloved cat, Rosie, who he and his mother shared for twenty years. Rosie was a special part of their home and Danny’s life.
Danny will be remembered for his gentle heart, his love of family and animals, and the simple life he lived. He leaves behind many memories that will be treasured by those who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, with Reverend Rick Metheney officiating. A dinner will immediately follow in the fellowship hall for the family. Per Danny’s wishes, he will be cremated.
