Denzil Leon Cottrill, 84, of Grantsville, WV, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Glenville Center, Glenville, WV.
He was born at Frozen on October 20, 1941, a son of the late Ezra and Ellen Salyers Cottrell.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by daughter, Lesa Marie Cottrell Parsons; siblings, Reith (Suzanna) Cottrell, May Cottrell, Genevive (Dewey) Frame, Ronzel (Grace Ann) Cottrell, Russell Dee (Etta) Cottrell, Annabelle Stump (Herman Zalud), and Denver Paul (Betty Joan) Cottrell.
He is survived by children Melissa D. Cottrell Green, Denzil Leon Cottrell, Jr., Amanda Williams; sister Myretta (Floyd) Riley; companion Florence Bishop; lots of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was a member of Frozen Run Baptist Church. He worked at Burke-Parsons-Bowlby. He loved knife trading, the outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., 1440 Arnoldsburg Road, Arnoldsburg, WV 25234, with Pastor Kevin Church officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, 12:00-1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Bailey Cemetery, Beech Road, Orma, WV.
