Early morning Fatality on Route16 North Calhoun Highway

An investigation is underway by Trp. David Moore of the West Virginia State police of an early morning accident involving a tree falling on an APEX company Truck on North Calhoun Highway, just south of Klipstine Road. The call came into Calhoun Control shortly before 6 a.m. The driver, who’s name has not been released pending notification of family, was killed when a tree fell into the windshield avoiding the passenger, who escaped injury.

The road was temporarily closed from the mouth of Nobe road to Klipstine Road while crews removed debris from scene and took care of the accident victim.

Calhoun EMS, Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department, WV State Police and Westfall’s Wrecker service were on scene for about three hours.
