Ridgeview stands corrected.
Good morning. Welcome to Part 3. First, to mention facts. Again. When I emailed Ridgeview last week, I titled the letter, Letter to the Editor Part 2. Not Questions and Answers from a frustrated Mr. Firestine. That was your spin on things. Mr. Firestine is not frustrated. Mr. Firestine is disappointed. So, we are clear on that.
Now that the Canadian smoke has cleared from the county, flooding has happened to the neighbors and the Valley North meeting has been completed, the water and sewer issues linger.
I was happy to see Calhoun County unite and stand up to the Valley North crew. Now I know you can do it and so do you. As far as the Commissioners unanimously voting to go again the Valley North project, I am not impressed. Anyone in the county would have done the same thing. So nice distraction and some more photo ops. Now Fox News was involved with some TV time, not impressed. Frankly because I do not think anyone or anything will stop this project. Again, I am not for this at all, and I hope it will not go through, but I live in the real world and do not think it can be stopped. It is all to feed power to Huge Data Centers so AI can take more jobs and monitor what we are doing. More like China than the USA every day. But keep fighting. And unite in the same way to fight for your water. The Commission was also quick to drive to Weston ( on the new Sheriff’s new side by side I am told) to help the neighbors but not help their own with water issues. Pretty quick for the photo op signing their names in Purple for September too.
The questions from Part 2 have not been answered. According to the site, Part 1 had 1380 views and 1 comment. From me Thanking Mr. Mills. Part 2, 592 views. No comments. Again, that tells you how the upper echelon thinks on the people. Or at least the people who have questions. They feel they do not have to answer to anyone even though they say they are for “The People”. Arrogance or lack of knowledge? You can decide. I have figured both at this point.
The equipment question. Probably not addressed. Probably still broken. The violations addressed and sent to the public? The PSC will investigate that when I complete my formal complaint to them next week. Thanks to the PSC for talking to me and providing the information needed to complete that complaint. The proper testing and safety equipment? Probably not addressed since the last major leak had to call in for reinforcement to complete the job. Again, because they are not properly equipped and have not been for years. Maybe OSHA should be involved? They usually can get some results. The sewer violations? You can guess how I feel about that. The shared hours that Mt Zion pays for working on the other systems even though the O&M is still not completed? Not addressed even though I brought it up over a year ago. Simple paperwork. You work in Grantsville, keep you time separate. You work in Pleasant Hill. Keep your time separate. Pass it on to both and both do the same if they are working in Mount Zion. Not hard to fix, but minimal effort is required from management, so that problem continues to cost the customers. Who I think are still under a boil advisory? So again, the customer pays for a product that they have to do more work to use, but that isn’t a management issue. It is your issue. Kind of like Wal Mart making you check out your own items while they watch you do their job and pay more. The meters calibrated? Nah. How many more meter’s need replaced? A lot. Has that major project in Arnoldsburg started? Since multiple sites need to have their yards dug up to rework piping to accommodate for the new meters? Oh, no one knew that was even going to happen? Now you do if you didn’t. This one goes back to Part 1. The black bag on the hydrant at Family Dollar will soon blow off and float down the river which is a violation of state law. There is a certain type of bag that needs to be installed per the PSC. But its summertime. No one has time for that. But they have time to shop at these garbage stores instead of at the local stores. The management issues can be investigated by the PSC when I file my formal complaint next week. After phone conversations with the PSC, they may already be investigating that.
Maybe since everyone wants to be a digital creator now, this letter can be turned into an AI advertisement. That will get everyone’s attention. Again, not easily impressed. Especially by AI banners and advertising. Takes a minute to input info and AI does the rest. So, we are clear on that. Everyone is standing against Valley North but generates everything with AI that Valley North is going to feed. Kind of like saying you support the local shops but continue to go to Wal Mart and shop out of the county and on Amazon. That is what great leaders do. Say things to make you think they care about you. They do not. And will not. This concludes my letter. Again, no frustration. Sheer disappointment. Like I said in Part 2. I will go away, but the problems will not until they are discussed and addressed. Not pushed to the next meeting. Mt. Zion PSD does have a public meeting coming up Monday at 2pm. I was told to come, but I have a job that interferes with that. Since the meeting is conveniently scheduled for 2pm when the working class is unavailable. Probably for a reason. But I suggest the county unites again and shows up. I hope Ridgeview goes live and brings up some of these questions. I appreciate the residents of Calhoun and the surrounding counties and will continue to refresh your brain with questions until they are answered. Have a great day and get out and get something done.
