Hardway Boys are Ridgeview’s Guiding Light Community Leaders

Landon Hardway

It’s terrible that it takes a disaster to make us take note of the good things and especially the good kids in the community. But that is usually the case. Yesterday’s flooding took it’s toll on the Avalon campus of the 1982 Foundation. But among the heartache was a couple of young fellas dear to my heart that I wanted to pay tribute to.

Braydon Hardway

Landon and Braydon Hardway are the sons of Jeremy and Jessica Hardway of Mt. Zion. Jeremy owns Hardway Construction that has done considerable work around the Avalon campus and was one of the many crew members that assisted in getting materials out of the flood waters and sparing The 1982 Foundation unneccessary costs and further damages. But Jeremy’s sons, Landon (16) and Braydon (12) were not apart of the package in Hardway Construction, and yet the two were up to their knees in the cold flood waters of the Little Kanawha on Friday, helping remove materials from the old bus garage on the campus, which will be the up and coming Recovery center.

Because of their outstanding work and contribution in less than ideal circumstances they are Ridgeview’s Guiding Lights. I’m proud of the boys and their parents for encouaraging them to step up in their community and lend a hand.
