
Hoy S. Keith Jr., 81, of Lost Creek, WV; departed this earthly life on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at the WVU United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV; following an extended illness.
He was born February 1, 1944 in Sand Fork, WV; son of the late Hoy Sr., and Audry (Rogers) Keith.
Hoy is a graduate of Sand Fork High School, class of 1962. He spent most of his working life as a well tender and coal miner having retired from the coal mines in 2008. In his spare time, Hoy enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, spending time outdoors, and living the quiet life.
On July 28, 1962 Hoy was united in marriage to Linda (Ratliff) Keith who survives at their Lost Creek home.
Surviving are 2 children, Tammy Keith of Lost Creek, WV; and Hoy S. Keith III of Grant Town, WV; and 2 sisters, Loretta Hayhurst of Weston, WV; and Nickie Leiding (Dave) of Alabama.
Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Stormi, Lawrence, and Nicklas Keith and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.
Along with his parents, Hoy is preceded in death by infant twin sons, Robert Dale and Troy Lynn Keith, and 3 sisters, Virginia Grace Self, Hazel McCord, and Lula Belle Godfrey.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 5:00 PM; Thursday, August 14, 2025 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Taylor Cemetery near Burnsville, WV. Friends will be received from 3:00 – 5:00 PM; Thursday afternoon at the mortuary in Glenville.
