Judith “Judy” Ranae Westfall, 76, Route 5 West, Gilmer County, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, October 10, 2025.
She was born July 8, 1949, in Lewis County, WV to the late Walter and Euleta (Ireland) Jones of Grantsville.
Judy worked various jobs over the years having worked as a nurses aide at Calhoun General Hospital until she gave birth to her youngest daughter and became a stay at home mother and homemaker. Some years later, she returned back to work and worked at C-Mart, Spenco and The Glenville Inn as the housekeeping supervisor where she retired.
On January 6, 1979, she was united in marriage to the love of her life Don Westfall who preceded her in death on April 28, 2013. They were blessed with 34 years of marriage. Judy was heartbroken with his passing and now they have been united in their heavenly home.
Judy was a mother and grandmother who took much pride in her children and grandchildren. They were her life and she would do anything for them. She was full of love, kindness and had so much strength. She was a woman of her word and wasn’t afraid for that to be known. Anyone who knew her well experienced her “oh whatever” attitude, which brings a smile to our faces. Her legacy will live on through her two daughters and her six grandchildren for years to come.
Surviving are her two loving daughters who adored her, Angela (Meadows) Linger of Twinsburg, OH and Amber (Westfall) Hamric and husband Tommy of Sand Fork, WV. Also surviving are her grandchildren Taylor Hibbitt (Mark) and Teara Linger of Twinsburg, OH, and Ean, Ashton, Raelyn and Adelyn Hamric of Sand Fork, WV. She is also survived by her step children Charlene Vukich (Terry), Judy Powell and Debra Meadows, grandchildren Christina and Robbie Parsons, Debra King and William “Bimbo” Meadows Jr.
Along with her children and grandchildren she is survived by sisters Debra Varner (Terry), Charlotte Robinson (Terry), Mary Bower (Dink) and two brothers Donzel “Nick” Jones (Terry) and Paul Jones (Judy). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and along with two special grand-dogs, Theo and Bella who she loved spending time with.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers William “Bill” Jones, Walter “Junior” Jones (Annabelle), John Jones and sisters Kathryn “Kookie” Harris (Jerry “Fuzzy”), and Sharon Stull (Dean), grandson Jerad Linger, stepdaughter Roberta Yeager, step son Michael Westfall and two son-in-laws, William Meadows and Leonard Powell.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Stump Funeral Home and Cremation, Inc., 107 Market St., Grantsville, WV, with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Interment will follow at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Tanner, WV. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
