Larry Joe Frashure Obituary

Larry Joe Frashure, 71, of Glenville, WV; departed this earthly life in the mid-morning hours of Thursday, July 23, 2026 at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born August 21, 1954 in Linn, WV; son of the late William Earl and Minnie Fern (McHenry) Frashure.

Larry is a graduate of Gilmer County High School, class of 1972. He was a United States Marine Corp veteran who served his country with honor and distinction. Larry spent most of his working life as a truck driver, having drove for Dowell and later retiring from Buccaneer Enterprises.

Larry is a Christian by faith and in his spare time, enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR, watching and supporting his children and grandchildren play sports, spending time with family and friends, and he was an avid fan of WVU sports.

On July 28, 1974 Larry was united in marriage to Joyce Ann (Sprouse) Frashure, who preceded him in death on January 12, 2019.

Surviving are 2 sons; Travis Frashure and wife Stacey and Joe Frashure both of Glenville, 8 grandchildren, Jacob, Tyler and Emma Frashure, Tessa Simmons, Macey and Brooklyn Jones, and Bayley and Kendall Frashure, and 7 siblings: Beulah Robinson of Tanner, Lou Runyon of Stumptown, Jimmy Frashure and wife, Nadine, of Parkersburg, Ann King of Alum Bridge, Ronnie Frashure and wife, Nancy, of Glenville, Faynell Gainer and husband Terry of Weston, and Jerry Frashure and wife Cheryl of Parkersburg.

Along with his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his son, William D. “Billy” Frashure, and 2 sisters, Mary Sue Osborn and Billie Radcliff.

The family would like to take this opportunity to personally thank Larry’s caregiver and granddaughter Bayley for the last 18 months. You have been a tremendous help and your love and compassion for your family is unmatched.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 2:00 PM; Sunday, July 26, 2026 with Rev. Kenny Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in the Rock Grove Cemetery near Linn, WV. Friends will be received from 12:00 noon -2:00 PM; Sunday at the mortuary in Glenville.
