Local Open House at Glenville State University Invites Calhoun, Roane, Gilmer, and Braxton County Students to Explore Educational Opportunities

Dr. Mark Manchin, President of Glenville State University meets students from the Little Kanawha Christian Academy located in Calhoun County.

Glenville State University hosted a special open house event aimed at students of Calhoun, Roane, Gilmer, and Braxton counties. This unique occasion provided an excellent opportunity for individuals in the local community to discover the diverse academic programs, resources, and career prospects that Glenville State University has to offer.

The open house event took place at the Waco Center, from there students were able to meet and tour the rest of Glenville State University’s picturesque campus, nestled in the heart of beautiful West Virginia. Participants had the chance to interact with faculty, staff, and current students, gaining insights into the university’s academic excellence, vibrant campus life, and strong commitment to fostering community growth.

This open house is an excellent opportunity for prospective students and their families to ask questions, gather information, and take the first step toward a brighter future through education.

Dr. Mark Manchin, President of Glenville State University, expressed his excitement about the upcoming event: “We are thrilled to invite the students of Calhoun, Roane, Gilmer, and Braxton counties to our beautiful campus. At Glenville State University, we believe in the transformative power of education and the importance of strengthening our local communities. We are committed to providing accessible and high-quality education to all who seek it, and this open house is a testament to that commitment.”

“We had a great time hosting our local high schools for a day of college exploration. The main objective is to ensure students have a long runway leading to college, so they are better prepared and more likely to enroll. Hosting events like this allows us to have time with each individual student, show them our beautiful campus, and cultivate relationships across the state.” – Rikki Butler, Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Management.
