Lisa Cooper, Owner and Operator of Mom’s Place Too in Grantsville, WV has a vast amount of experience feeding people. Her “home cooking” style has been a staple in Calhoun for many years for local residents to gather in. Prior to opening her Restaurant in Grantsville, She and her mother, Helen Burns, served together at her mom’s Restaurant in Elizabeth under the name “Mike’s Place.” Helen’s husband Mike loved her cooking and encouraged her to open the Restaurant there; unfortunately Mike passed away just as they were ready to open. Helen retired after 13 years of being in business and Lisa bought her restaurant out. For ten years Lisa served the free Thanksgiving Dinner in that location. She brought the tradition with her to Grantsville and five years ago she began serving free Thanksgiving Dinners at Mom’s Place Too.
Over 150 people were served enjoyed a Thanksgiving feast with all the trimmings compliments of Mom’s Place Too and the help of several volunteer servers.
Thank you Lisa for giving such a wonderful gift to the community!
Don’t forget to stop in at Mom’s place too and share the Holiday Spirit by enjoying her home cooking!
