The National Weather Service issued the following warning at 4 a.m. Saturday morning, January 4th, 2025:
* WHAT…For the Winter Storm Warning, heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations up to one inch. For the Winter Storm Watch, heavy mixed precipitation possible. Total snow accumulations between 6 and 9 inches and ice accumulations up to one tenth of an inch possible.
* WHERE…Portions of central, northeast, northern, and southeast West Virginia.
* WHEN…For the Winter Storm Warning, until 10 AM EST this morning. For the Winter Storm Watch, from Sunday morning through Monday evening.
* IMPACTS…Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially
life-threatening. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous
conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes.
