Pastor Myron Kenneth Guiler Obituary

Dr. Myron Guiler preached at and blessed several Calhoun County Churches, often traveling with the Marietta Bible College Choir with students from around the world.

Pastor Myron Kenneth Guiler went home to be with his Lord and Savior July 4, 2026. He passed at 12:24 a.m. in Marietta Memorial

He is survived by his wife Linda L. Guiler, Nieces LaWayne Smith & Sherry Meredith, and several great nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his Father: Kenneth Allen Guiler, Mother: Freda M. Franklin Guiler, Brother: Carroll Guiler, Sister-in-law: Irene Guiler, Sister: Jolleen Hayes, Brother-in-law: Wayne Hayes, Father-in-law: Halford Guiler, Mother-in-law: Sarah Guiler, Nephew: Cameron Hayes, and Niece: Vickie Gardner.

Pr. Guiler was born at home in Wille, Ohio on August 10, 1934. He was a 1952 graduate of Summerfield High School, he went on to obtain his teaching certificate from Muskingum University in New Concord, Ohio. Pr. Guiler was 19 years old when he accepted Christ then dedicated his life to the Lord. He attended and graduated from Bob Jones University, Greenville, SC. He became Pastor of Marietta Bible Center Church in 1961 when it was located on Front Street in Marietta. The current location of Marietta Bible Center Church at 4070 State Route 60 was purchased and began construction in 1972. The new church building opened its doors in the spring of 1973 where he faithfully served as Senior Pastor until he went to be with the Lord. He was involved in the founding of IBMA (International Baptist Missions for Asians) and served as President then President Emeritus for many years. Pr. Guiler had a passion for missions and training young Christians for the mission field as missionaries, pastors, and teachers. This burden for souls led to the founding of Marietta Bible College in 1977. He was President of Marietta Bible College which continues to train students from all over the world and currently has graduates serving in more than 20 countries. Pr. Guiler founded Marietta Christian School in 1980 as a KJV Bible based alternative to the public schools.

Pr. Myron Guiler and Ms. Linda Guiler were married on September 22, 1968. She faithfully and humbly served the Lord at her husband’s side for 57 years.

Pr. Guiler has left a legacy of Christian service that has had an impact globally as well as locally. There will be an innumerable number of souls in heaven because of his sacrifice and dedication to the Lord.
