Sharon Rosalie “Rose” Pursley, born July 23, 1938, passed away peacefully at Minnie Hamilton Long Term Care System surrounded by her loved ones. Rose was born in Calhoun County, WV to Woodrow Jake Kerby and Eulah Starcher Kerby. She graduated from Calhoun County High School. After graduation, Rose held many jobs including working at the telephone company. But none of her jobs meant more to her than Owning and Operating a trucking company with the love of her life, Roy Lee Pursley. Rose and Roy spent 59 years happily sharing life together including traveling to 48 states and owning Pursley’s Furniture Store. She was an avid dog lover especially to her 3 companions – Willy, Buffy, and Troubles. Rose was proceeded in death by her parents, Jake and Eulah Kerby, husband Roy Pursley, and a very special cousin, Joan Satterfield. Rose was loved and will be greatly missed by all her friends and family. A funeral service will be held at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Grantsville, WV, on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. David Weaver officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Friday. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion UMC Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.stumpfuneralhomes.com
