State Farm Building Receives the Latest Face Lift

The “Paint the Town” project continued on Main Street in Grantsville on Wednesday morning as the 1982 Foundation crew gave a fresh coat of light gray to the State Farm building, brightening the West end of Main Street.

The transformation to not only the buildings but to the atmosphere in town is wonderful. For decades Grantsville has sat mainly unchanged until the recent enthusiasm to revive and create a day trip community for tourists began. While there were businesses who, through the years, did their best to keep their storefronts clean and fresh looking, this town wide project makes Grantsville look Postcard perfect and will hopefully serve to boost the economy.

The next building on the project schedule is the other half of the Town of Grantsville City offices where the West Virginia State Police are located. The plan is for the building to be painted a forest green to cover the aging gold medal on the their offices. Paint for the WVSP office was provided by The 1982 Foundation.

The beautiful storefronts will add to the beauty of the Christmas decor that is soon to be in town for the Christmas season.
