According to AVFD Chief Joe Tanner, their crews were dispatched to a large fire at the former Triad oil facility at Richardson on Saturday, April 20th. The Upper West Fork VFD responded for assistance, but was canceled.

A large tank with an unknown substance was compromised, and the contents have spilled out. Firemen were able to quickly extinguish the fire which has been labeled as suspicious in nature. The WV State Fire Marshal’s Office and WVDEP are investigating. Anyone with information should call the WV Arson Hotline at 1-800-233-FIRE.

  1. I question the unknown substance. In this day and age, there shouldn’t be an unknown substance associated with any company. I hope there is a follow up to this one with some clarification provided to the locals
