The Upper West Fork Park at 88 Red Roof lane was destroyed by fire at around 10 a.m. on Friday, July 18th, 2025. The park is a highly active part of the Chloe and surrounding areas, hosting events most every week throughout the year. But this morning, as it sat empty something triggered a fire inside the building, believed to have started in the kitchen or roof of that area of the building.

Secretary/Treasurer Anita West was at the park surveying the damage and watching as the Upper West Fork and Arnoldsburg Volunteer Fire Departments fought the fire. Minnie Hamilton EMS and Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department were present as well.

Ms. West told Ridgeview News that it was devasting loss for the community, but the Upper West Fork Park Board did have the building insured.

As the fire billowed out both ends of the upper part of the building, their were blazes shooting above the roof top as well. Volunteer fire fighters vented the roof and removed the ceiling tiles inside to put out the fire.

None of the surrounding structures were effected by the fire..
