West Arrested for Attempt to Defeat a Drug Test

In a complaint filed in the office of Magistrate Richard Postalwait on August 5th, 2025, Deputy H.M. Stephens stated the following: I was called to Magistrate Davis’ office by Lori Fleagle. Ms. Fleagle advised she that thought Melissa Sue West, who is on bond for domestic violence, was hiding a device containing fake urine. Several video recordings
were taken from the courthouse cameras showing Ms. West handling her crotch area above and beneath her clothing.

When confronted, Ms. West denied having any items up her crotch and attempted to pee. Ms. West later went to the restroom with Ms. Fleagle and removed a homemade urine dispenser from her crotch in front of Ms. Fleagle. The device
has been retained for evidence.

Ms. West has been charged with “ Attempt to Defeat a Drug Test” and is being held in the WV Central Regional Jail on a $3,000 bond. She is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
