WVSP Arrest Snider on Multiple Charges

In a complaint filed by Senior Trooper J.D. Richards of the West Virginia State Police in Calhoun Magistrate Court, Trooper Richards charged Justin James Snider with receiving and transferring stolen property, Reckless Driving, possession of less than 15 grams o f Marijuana, Improper Registration, unsafe or improperly equipped vehicles, and left of center.

Trooper Richards stated that on April 1st, 2026 at approximately 8:36 p.m. a call came into Calhoun County 911 Dispatch from a witness advising that he was behind a white F-250 pulling a trailer with no lights on the back headed North bound on WV Route 16 towards Arnoldsburg, West Virginia. The witness detailed to dispatch that the vehicle and trailer combo was weaving over the double-yellow lines multiple times and almost collided with multiple vehicles.

At nearly the same time and date, Trooper Richards pulled out behind the reported White F-250 at the intersection of U.S.
Route 119/33 and WV State Route 16 in Arnoldsburg heading eastbound. He too observed the vehicle and trailer combo go over the double-yellow line of South Calhoun Highway twice in blind turns as well as observing that the trailer being pulled behind the F-250 had no tail-lights.

Trooper Richards initiated overhead emergency lights to indicate to the operator that a traffic stop was to be conducted. The vehicle and the Trooper came to rest at the address of 12313 South Calhoun Highway, Arnoldsburg, otherwise known as The Stone Bar.

On the same date, the Trooper made contact with the operator of the vehicle, later identified by WV as Justin James Snider. Upon approach and speaking Snider, Trooper Richards could smell Marijuana, emanating from the cab of the vehicle. The Trooper inquired if anyone in the vehicle had a medical Marijuana card at which time Snider advised that he had a few joints and gestured towards a tin can he had in his hand.

Trooper Richards conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle, also identifying a passenger in the front passenger seat of the vehicle to be Jason Conrad. Upon stepping out, Mr. Snider advised that he had a firearm on him and then two (2) others that were located in a cubby on the driver’s side of the center console of the vehicle. Mr. Snider gestured to the firearms. The Firearms were removed by the Trooper and placed on the hood of his Patrol vehicle. A search was conducted of the vehicle where Trooper Richards found 6 rolled joints in the tin-can that Mr. Snider gestured to and several roached in the ashtray in the cupholder of the center console.

The search also found two opened Smirnoff Red-White and Berry in the passenger side door-panel of the vehicle.

The F250 Truck WV Registration was in the name of Justin Snider. A request for the WVSP South Charleston Dispatch to run the WV Registration on the trailer came back to Bethany Volunteer Fire Dept. and Boone County schools. This Trooper had WVSP South Charleston Dispatch run the the firearms through NCIC. One o f the firearms, a Kel Tec PF9 9mm Bearing Serial number: RYA97 came back as stolen out of
Fayetteville, WV.

Justin James Snider was placed under arrest and taken to the WV Central Regional Jail in case 25-M07M-00060. Bond was set at $8,000 and posted with a 10% cash/90% personal recognizance bond. Magistrate Lora Davis continued the case for a hearing on May 18, 2026 at 2 p.m.
