WVSP Looking for People affected by Sexual Abuse In Calhoun County.

The West Virginia State Police (WVSP) is looking for people affected in an ongoing investigation into sexual abuse and/or misconduct in Calhoun County. 

The investigation is said to involve “a public official or other trusted member of the community,” a Monday WVSP release said.

When asked about the inquiry, WVSP told WOWK 13 News that it is in response to receiving multiple tips regarding individuals of trust in the Calhoun area.

The WVSP said it believes there are those affected that have not yet come forward to share their incidents, so it is asking those affected to come forward.

“We want to assure the community that our primary concern is the well-being and safety of those who may have been impacted,” WVSP Corporal E. Schoolcraft said. “The investigation is focused on accountability. This inquiry is to ensure that anyone who needs support or wishes to speak with us has a safe and respectful avenue to do so.”
