Leonard and Barb Wilson were traveling home from Barb’s cardiologist appointment around 4 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2022 when Leonard approached a stopped school bus at the mouth of Sinking Springs Road on South Calhoun Highway. As he attempted to slow down his 2004 Chevy Silverado he discovered that his brakes were gone. In an attempt to avoid the bus he narrowly missed going over the hill by hitting a large tree. Calhoun Control dispatched Minnie Hamilton Health System who had just passed the scene not realizing they were about to return. The ambulance crew treated Mr. Wilson for some minor injuries but did not transport. Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched for traffic control. Trooper Brian Young is the investigating officer.
