NICK DICKEY ATTENDING WVU VISUAL ARTS ACADEMY

Bonnie Sands

Nick Dickey will be attending the West Virginia University Visual Arts Summer Academies on June 11-16th.

Under the supervision of faculty, he will participate in studio art workshops Monday through Thursday. Supervised by student counselors and faculty in WVU’s Art Education program, he will get to  reside in the Evansdale Residential Complex near the Creative Arts Center. Faculty from WVU’s School of Art & Design will facilitate this camp and art teachers from around the state of West Virginia will teach individual workshops.

Nick received a full scholarship of $750, covering the cost of the residential camp. This includes a private room, meals, bed linens and art supplies. During his stay at WVU, Nick will get to choose between painting, printmaking, ceramics, photography, intermedia and sculpture workshops.

The Visual Arts Summer Academy provides a community-based program designed for students in grades 7-12. The Academy introduces participants to visual arts programs at the university level and helps them expand their artistic skills. This program is designed to encourage students to think about career pathways in art and design and to experience campus life at WVU.
