Special Weather Statement issued April 14 at 4:20PM EDT by NWS Charleston WV
Here is a fire danger statement issued in coordination with the West Virginia Division of Forestry. The wildfire danger is high this afternoon and evening for most parts of West Virginia. Very dry conditions are expected through this evening. Open burning of any type is considered extremely dangerous at this time. Be very careful of heat and sparks while operating any equipment or smoking in wildland areas. West Virginia law prohibits burning in the spring from 7AM to 5PM…March 1st through May 31st.
A warning is issued when a hazardous weather or hydrologic event is occurring, imminent or likely.
