Garry Joe Kight, 80, of Glenville, WV; departed this earthly life on July 1, 2026 at home surrounded by family following an extended illness.
He was born November 19,1945 in Glenville, son of the late Leonard and Nola (Kelly) Kight.
Garry is a graduate of Glenville High School, Class of 1964. He worked at Glenville State University running the print shop for over 40 years. In his spare time, Garry was an avid card player. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, working puzzles, Bingo, and spending time with family and friends.
On January 27, 1967 Garry was united in marriage to Reta (Bird) Kight who still resides at their Glenville home.
Surviving is one daughter, Michelle Kight (James Smith) of Weston, WV, and two grandchildren, Steven Shepkosky, III of Glenville, WV and Arianna Smith of Weston, WV. Also surviving is a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.
Along with his parents (Leonard and Nola) Garry is preceded in death by sisters Hylah Squires, Faye Young, Lois Greenlief, and one brother Larry Kight.
While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate a life filled with love and laughter. He will be deeply missed and his request for cremation has been honored.
A celebration of life will be held at the First Baptist Church in Glenville, WV at a later date.
